What are the bring your own device (BYOD) specifications?
Our Information Technology programmes require you to bring your own device/laptop (BYOD) in order to complete your studies.
BYOD Specifications for Computing and Information Techology programmes
The following BYOD specifications are required for:
- Bachelor of Information Technology
- Graduate Diploma in Information Technology
- Certificate in Information Technology
- Diploma in Information Technology Technical Support
- Diploma in Web Development and Design
The minimum specifications we require are:
- Windows 11 Operating System
- Intel i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 processor
- 16GB of memory
- 500GB+ NVMe SSD
- 1Gbps Ethernet port or purchase an adapter if needed for network courses
- 802.11n wireless
- Webcam
Additional Requirements:
256 GB Internal SSD, 2.5"form factor, SATA 3 interface - you will need one or two per course, depending on your course selection.
Can I use an Apple product?
Current NMIT guidelines do not support the use of Apple products for our programmes.
BYOD is not required for Diploma of Animation or Bachelor of Computer-Generated Imagery students:
