I'm only interested in marine conservation (or only aquaculture). Is this the right degree for me?
Yes. The programme combines the two on purpose, and each one strengthens the other. If you're mainly interested in marine conservation, aquaculture teaches you hands-on skills like husbandry, systems and research methods that carry over into restoration and conservation work. If you're mainly interested in aquaculture, marine conservation gives you the ecological context to farm more sustainably.
You can steer your direction through placements, projects and your dissertation. Some students also pair the degree with another field, such as engineering, electrical work, business or marketing.
