How do I connect to the NMIT Guest Wi-Fi network?

The NMIT Guest Wi-Fi network is intended for visitors who need temporary internet access while on campus.

This includes:

• Guests visiting NMIT staff.
• External organisations using NMIT rooms or computer labs for events, seminars, or other approved activities.

To access the Guest Wi-Fi network, you will need a guest pass.

Guest passes are provided by:

• The NMIT staff member you are visiting, or
• Campus Services, if you have booked an NMIT room or computer lab for an event.

When requesting a guest pass, provide the following information:

• When you need access.
• How long you need access for.
• How many devices will be connected.

Your guest pass will include:

• A guest pass key.
• The expiry date and time.
• Instructions for connecting.

1. Open the Wi-Fi settings on your device.
2. Connect to the NMIT-Guest wireless network.
3. If your device warns that the network is unsecured, choose Connect or Connect Anyway.
4. Open a web browser and visit any website. You will be redirected to the NMIT Guest Wi-Fi sign-in page.
5. Enter the guest pass key provided to you.
6. Read and accept the Terms of Use.
7. Select Sign In.

Once you have signed in, you can browse the internet until your guest pass expires.

When you have finished using the network, return to the sign-in page and select Sign Out.

A Guest Wi-Fi account provides internet access only.

It does not provide access to:

• NMIT file shares.
• Internal NMIT systems (intranets).
• Network printers.
• Other secure NMIT network resources.
