How do I access my NMIT student email?

Learn the different ways to access your NMIT Microsoft 365 email and stay up to date with important communications.

Your NMIT student email account is part of Microsoft 365 and provides access to your email as well as other NMIT digital services.

After your enrolment is complete, your NMIT email account becomes the primary email address NMIT uses to communicate with you. It is important that you check it regularly.

Your NMIT student email address is in the format:

  • preferredname-surname@live.nmit.ac.nz

For example: joe-bloggs@live.nmit.ac.nz

Access your email using Outlook on the web:

You can access your mailbox directly through Outlook on the web.

  1. Go to the Outlook sign-in page.
  2. Sign in using your NMIT student email address and password.
  3. For easy access in the future, consider bookmarking the page in your web browser.
Access your email through Moodle:
  1. Open NMIT Moodle from the NMIT website or search for NMIT Moodle in your web browser.
  2. Sign in using your NMIT student email address and password.
  3. On the Moodle dashboard, select NMIT Email from the Student Tools section.
Access your email through MyNMIT:
  1. Open MyNMIT from the top menu on the NMIT website.
  2. Sign in as a Current Student using your NMIT student email address and password.
  3. Select the NMIT Email link.
Access your email on your own device:

For convenient access, you can also

  • Set up your NMIT email on your computer, phone, or tablet.
  •  Forward your NMIT email to a personal email address.
