Yes. NMIT students travelling from Motueka, Mapua, or Wakefield can use the Nelson Coachlines paid school bus services on weekdays during the secondary school term.
Before you travel- Arrive at your bus stop at least 5 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
- A TransportMe smartcard is required to pay your fare.
You can purchase a TransportMe smartcard:
- From either of the Nelson Colleges, or
- Directly from Nelson Coachlines by cash or bank transfer.
Contact Nelson Coachlines to arrange payment and delivery of your card.
Nelson Campus stopStudents travelling to the Nelson Campus should use the Mot 3 service.
- Drop-off/pick-up location: Outside T Block, Nile Street, opposite Nelson Central School.
- Approximate morning arrival: 8:40 am.
- Approximate afternoon departure: 3:10 pm.
Students travelling to the Richmond Campus should use the designated Richmond stop.
- Morning drop-off: A&P Showgrounds gates on Lower Queen Street (closest to NMIT).
- Afternoon pick-up: Across the road from the morning stop for the return journey to Motueka.
- Approximate morning arrival: 7:55 am.
- Approximate afternoon departure: 3:50 pm.
